Road to Adulthood
OCK Kids Young Adult resource services.
Cell phone program for 18+ includes a free cell phone and service for 6 months provided they meet the following criteria:
- Young adult must be 18 or over – no exceptions
- Young adult must pick up the phone at our location in person – no exceptions
- Young adult must be able to read, write and understand the OCJ Phone agreement form without the presence of a guardian or Fiduciary.
- Young adult must be in school, working, or actively seeking employment
- Young adult must fill out an online form or check in with a phone call between the 1st and 7th of each month to continue receiving service
- Young Adult must agree to interact with our young adult mentors when contacted
- Requests are made by the coach using our resource request link once approved and appointment scheduling link will be sent out and an appointment must be scheduled within 21 days.
This program also offers the opportunity for the Young Adult to Connect with a Mentor – however this program is currently in flux.

- Transitional Suitcase program (All items in duffels are new)
Phase 2 and Phase 3 also include our Pizza Program, which allows young adults to contact us once a month for up to 12 check-ins to receive a free $15 Little Caesars pizza gift card. Please note: this is a one-time resource—young adults do not receive a new set of pizza cards if they receive a different phase bag.
- Phase 1 includes a hygiene kit and a blanket or quilt. This phase typically serves young adults in shelter situations.
- Phase 2 (One-Time Resource) is intended for young adults moving in with family or friends, into transitional housing, a college dorm, or a similar living situation. It includes bedding, dishes, a blanket, pillow, hygiene kit, and several additional items. This phase is also supplemented with a gift card to help with other needs.
- Phase 3 (One-Time Resource) is designed for young adults moving into their own home or apartment and living fully independently. It includes everything in Phase 2, plus a blow-up air mattress and a shower curtain with rings.
- Phase 2 and Phase 3 are each available to a young adult one time. If a young adult has already received either Phase 2 or Phase 3, they may be eligible to receive the other phase after 12 months.
- Young adults are not eligible if they are currently living in a foster home or group home.
- Requests are made by the coach using our resource request link and once approved and appointment link will be sent out to schedule pick up.

- Bus Passes
- Available to young adults 18 and older who reside in Maricopa County, do not live in a group home, and are enrolled in our Cell Phone Program or Transitional Duffle Program.
- We provide one free 31-day bus pass.
- Additional bus passes may be purchased at our cost of $32.00 (Metro retail cost is $64.00).
- Requests are made via email to Me.
- Financial Literacy Course
- Free online course consisting of 20 comprehensive financial literacy modules.
- Participants receive a certificate of completion that meets DCS subsidy standards.
- Upon successful completion, participants will receive a small gift by U.S. mail, once their mailing address is confirmed.
- Baby Bag Resource for Teen and Young Adult Parents
- A one-time baby bag filled with essential items for infants from newborn (no earlier than 30 days prior to due date) through 24 months, based on available inventory. All items are new.
- Includes Interact parenting magazines, feeding guides, and additional Interact educational materials.
- New infant and toddler car seats may be available (supplies are limited).
- Formula available upon request (supplies are limited).
- Additional items may be available depending on current donations.
- Resource requests are made by coach via an online form.
- Dignity Room Project
- Free private bra fittings for female clients, available by appointment only. (This resource may be requested more than once.)
- Includes two brand-new bras, one sports bra, new panties (if in stock), an educational Interact magazine focused on female health, and a personal care goodie bag.
- Fittings are conducted by trained bra specialists who teach proper measuring and fit.
- Breast binders are available upon request.
- We stock and fit all sizes up to 54H and will place special orders if a size is not currently in stock.
- A2P Career Programs
- Path 1: STAR Program
A free 13-week, once-per-week pre-apprenticeship program in the construction trades, partnered with the LIUNA Trade Union. Participants receive hands-on training across multiple trades and graduate with:- OSHA-10 Certification
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- 46 credited hours toward a full apprenticeship program
- Exposure to and opportunities with potential employers
- Path 2: Career Connections
A 5–6 week, once-per-week program that introduces young adults to a variety of career paths and potential employers, with opportunities to interview upon successful completion. - These programs are scheduled to resume in late summer/early fall 2026.

- Available to young adults who are moving or traveling, based on availability.
The above list includes our current ongoing resource programs. We also offer our Annual Adulting Summit Every April, which is essentially a job fair for our foster youth and young adults. They meet potential employers, complete a resume , and do a mock interview with our trained volunteers. The Adulting Summit requires pre-registration and will be on Saturday April 11th from 9 -1 and includes lunch.
We are also able to provide connections to other agencies for additional resources.
