Group Home Visitations

Connecting Communities with Foster Care Group Homes

OCJ's Fostering Connections is designed to reach a forgotten and faceless culture within our society known only as "group home kids".

They are apart of a faceless generation; a group of children and youth who have to learn to survive in a world with no mom or dad to give direction, guidane, wisdom, correction or a warm embrace.

Our goal is to reach out to this forgotten and faceless generation. In Arizona alone, 11,700 children are in the foster care system. Of these, 4,583 are placed in group homes, each home housing up to 10 children and youth ages 6-18.

What is Fostering Connections?

A program designed to provide tools, resources, and caring adult mentors for foster care children and youth living in group homes.

Program services will be provided through three primary components:

  • Quarterly celebration events
  • In home mentor groups
  • Adult mentor outings and field trips
